Not being assaulted is not a privilege to be earned through the judicious application of personal safety strategies. A woman should be able to walk down the street at 4 in the morning in nothing but her socks, blind drunk, without being assaulted, and I, for one, am not going to do anything to imply that she is in any way responsible for her own assault if she fails to Adequately Protect Herself. Men aren’t helpless dick-driven maniacs who can’t help raping a vulnerable woman. It disrespects EVERYONE. —

THIS. I hate victim blaming or the basic denial of rape. Saying that a women can control the situation by dressing a certain way or not going to this place or whatever is saying that rape is something that CAN BE CONTROLLED BY THE WOMAN. But it’s obviously NOT. The man, his dick and power complex control it. Saying that women can control any aspect of rape just makes ~~men~~ people accept victim blaming, excusing it for ignorance.

This doesn’t make a lot of sense and it’s all been said before anyway. The main point is rape culture sucks.
